An ultra-efficient heat recovery ventilator (HRV) and dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), the VS3000 RT continuously improves building health and indoor air quality, while minimizing building energy usage. Traditional RTUs combine heating, cooling and ventilation, causing energy efficiency and building health to suffer. Since ventilation is reliant on heating and cooling when air conditioning isn’t on, no fresh air is entering the building. In traditional systems, outdoor air is brought in and mixed directly with indoor air, requiring a high degree of heating and air conditioning to bring it to the desired temperature, sacrificing energy efficiency.
To solve these issues, the VS3000 RT is designed for ventilation. The separation of ventilation from heating and cooling allows it to preserve building health while ensuring energy and operating cost savings.
An aluminum counter flow heat exchanger core allows the VS3000 RT to transfer up to 93% of the heat between intake and exhaust air streams. This is over 43% more efficient than cross flow or enthalpy wheel heat exchangers.

The VS3000 RT’s fans use backward curving fan blades and electronically commutated motors which reduce the power required for ventilation while also minimizing noise. Additional features like heavy insulation, positive sealing doors and the removal of thermal bridges to the exterior of the unit further enhance efficiency. An incorporated variable economizer also eliminates the further expense of installing an add-on. And unlike typical economizers,the VS3000 RT’s economizer can be intelligently set to the exact mix of outside and recirculated air that optimizes both indoor air quality and efficiency.
With precise construction, including airtight door seals to prevent dust and moisture entry, the VS3000 RT has been built for even the harshest environments. The durable, powder-coated, galvanized steel case extends the system’s lifespan.
Retrofitting a VS3000 RT is simple. Existing ducting can be routed to ports on the bottom or ends or side of the unit which reduces the need to modify any ductwork. Maintenance is also simplified by easy access to filters.
With internal air pressure and temperature sensors along with a sophisticated air pressure controller, the VS3000 RT has built-in intelligence. Sensors outside and within the building can detect levels of CO2, VOCs, relative humidity and occupancy. With the optional Smart Building Gateway and Smart Building Cloud Services add-on, the VS3000 RT offers Smart Ventilation Management.
